Is metal roofing more expensive?
Up front, yes, noticeably more than architectural shingles. Over the life of the roof it can cost less, because you may never replace it again.
Does a metal roof attract lightning?
No. It does not make a strike more likely, and metal is noncombustible if one does happen.
Can you do just my porch roof in metal?
Yes. Low-pitch porch roofs are one of the best places for metal, and it looks sharp next to shingles on the main roof.
